My husband and I are planning our first trip to Jamaica for November 2009. We have been to the Mayan Coast in Mexico twice before, but otherwise have never travelled. I have been doing some comparison research between "Couples" and "S", and think we are going to go with Couples. Now, we need help deciding which resort. We are looking for some relaxation with beautiful beaches, not too many people, and some great snorkelling. Any suggestions? Thanx in advance. |

Don't even think about going to the S place. You will love couples. We have only been to Couples Negril. Will be making our third trip there this July. This would be my choice of Couples Resorts, because we love it so much. What you are looking for is definitely there. But check out the board. And read about them all. No matter which one you choose I'm sure the two of you will love it. |

My Husband & I just went to Couples in Feb and did the snorkeling. They have two different areas that you can snorkel. One is with lots of fish and other is choral, stingrays, eels etc... Depending on how busy the fish one is then they take you to the other place but with it being included you can go as many times you want so then you will for sure get to go to other place. The beaches are great. It was my first time going away ever and I had a great time. The people there are great and friendly and the food is good. |

My wife and I have gone to jamacia for 8 years now, always to couples Negril. Not to many people, everyone very friendly, good mix of people. Beach is huge, so you can have privacy if you want, but plenty of people if you want to socialize. Snorkling is great, 2 trips a day morning and afternoon, and night snorkling a few days a week. |

CSA has the best beach, so if that's high on your list, start there. Also CSA is large enough and spread out so that you can either have time to yourselves or mingle with a group. |

If you don't want too many people, then I'd stick with CTI. It's the smallest of the four, and the beach is completely private with no public access or other hotels nearby. Second would be CSS. CN shares its beach with other hotels and CSA is on 7 mile beach. No matter which Couples you choose, you won't have made a wrong choice. The only wrong choice is not going to Couples! We've been to CTI, CN and CSS and are headed to CSA in 24 days!! I have pics if they'd help (amy.welch@hotmail.com).

You've already made the best choice in chosing Couples!!! The rest of it is icing on the cake. Each resort has it's own heartbeat, you just need to find which one matches yours |

Go to CSA. It is classic, romantic, lots of great food and bar choices and the best sports facility on the island. I think any Couples Resort you chose will be spectacular. Good luck deciding. |

Wolfiespetresort I think you choosing a Couples resort is a very wise decision. At Couples you are treated like family by the employees and the guests..You are not just a number, you are somebody. Having visited CN,CSA and CSS,I know the problem you are facing.Your best beaches are at Negril while the prettier resorts are at Ocho. Our favorite one is CN.We think CN has the best beach and resort lay out...We also love CSS for it pure beauty. Good luck on your decision but be sure it's a Couples resort. Hugs |

We will also be first timers, and we have selected CSA for our August 2009 honeymoon. Our first decision was, Negril vs. Ocho Rios, and although CSS seems beautiful with its cliffs and scenery, we decided on Negril. Then, we had to decide between CN and CSA, and we picked CSA because we read that the beach is the best, their spa is outstanding, and they have a great sports facility. It also has a new section of "verandah" suites, and for some reason, we like the idea of staying in relatively new rooms. But if you're looking for au natural bathing, aka a nude beach, CSA doesn't have one. We had a tough decision, and I'm sure we would've enjoyed any of the resorts, so I'm sure you'll have a great time regardless of which resort you pick. With all-time low prices, now's the time to book! |

Wolfiespetresort Welcome to the Couples Family. You will find that Couples is a step above that "S" resort. The hardest decision that you will have to make is selecting which of the 4 Couples Resorts to go to. Decisions decisions decisions. I am a loyalist of one certain resort but trust me when I say making that decision is the hardest thing you will do. I suggest that you view as many pictures of the resorts to let them speak out to you. Let your heart make your decision. CTI, CSS, CSA or CN they are all great and each offers an atmosphere that is unique to itself. Don't select a resort because we convinced you to select the one we like. Select the one that your heart says "Pick me". You won't go wrong. |

having visited most of the 'S' resorts, and other resorts in Jamaica... Negril has the nicer beaches if you like to walk, CN is on Bloody Bay and quiet. CSA is on 7 mile which is not as private. CSS is more elegant but the beaches are small, really nice a/n area. We liked the rooms better @ CSS if the rooms are important to you. |

We have been to another resort in OchoRios and were planning a trip back there until I found the Couples web site and the message boards. Totally convinced me to go the Couples Route. S resort was a great trip, but there seems to be no comparison when reading everyone's reviews and advice here. Plus tipping seemed to creep into our adventure (not required of course) but it certainly insured much better service.. And it didn't take too much for the staff to accept tips... Kinda shady if you ask me. So with much research, we have decided on Couples Negril. Have fun where ever you decide to go and focus on what's important.. the two of you!! |

FWIW Wolfie, my wife and are will also be making our first trip to Jamaica, altho it's not till next year (try being patient for that!!). Anyway, the reason for my post here is to let you know that we too debated S vs C. In fact, it initially wasn't even a debate, we had chosen S because that's all we knew from the myriad of TV and other ads. But this is where research pays off. The more I looked into it, the more it became obvious that our choice had to be Couples, and so this is who we will go with for our 25th wedding anniversary. The only questions left is (a) whether or not we will split our stay between two resorts, or (b) if we choose to stay at only one, will it be in OR or Negril. Decisions, decisions..... |

Wolfiespetresort, A second welcome to our lovely family. The husband and I have been to S twice, and though we were not disappointed by either trip, our last four visits to Jamaica we're with Couples; and may I say, no comparison. Couples is by far the better of the two travel corporations. We have our 5th trip schedule for May 6th - 13th; we booked the SR package, so we're not sure where we're going yet, but any of the four resorts will be fine. We are such huge supporters of Couples, we have also booked our annual December trip to CSA already. As I stated up top, we had no problems with S, it's just that Couples is far more superior in customer service, food, and overall fun. One Love! |

My boyfriend and I were at Couples San Souci this last December for 7 days and we loved it. The food, people, location, scenery, everything. We have just booked out next trip to Couples Swept Away for this coming February for 7 days. i am even more excited for this one. it looks simply amazing. I will never go to another resort besides one of the 4 couples when in Jamaica. |
