My husband and I stayed at CN from 1/1-1/6. We arrived non-stop from Philadelphia, customs was a breeze (5 minutes or so) and finding the couples lounge was simple. We were greeted with smiles and cold red strip and water. The drive to CN lasted about 75 minutes. When we arrived our room was ready and we were taken to our oceanview room. Now...I am very fortunate to have read reviews and had prepared myself for mediocre and aged room. I believe the reviews on tripadvisor and here were extremely accurate, and was happy to have set my expectations low. That being said, it was cleaned by staff twice a day, towel art with flowers and turndown service nightly, and the view (although you could only spot specs of the ocean) met my expectations. The food at the resort for breakfast was average, lunch was much better. My husband and I loved the jerk chicken at the grill, and at the lunch buffet there were always more than adequate vegetarian options (olives, feta cheese, cold salads, grilled veggies)...all were good. Dinner is where the food stood out for my husband and I, the fine dining restaurant was exceptional. The service was great (Adrian and Stefan were so attentive) and the food was on par with fine dining in philadelphia. I was extremely impressed. Also to note, at this restaurant their house red wine was different and better than the rest of the restaurants. Lyche was great as well. The food was mostly Thai, and the sushi was so fresh. The service that we received there (Pedro was our waiter) was the best we have received at any resort or restaurant for that matter. Also to note...the rose bowl and playoffs were televised down there (all the rooms have all the major channel and cable) and we guzzled down red stripes and nachos (that we made from their nacho bar...so good). The entertainment was great!! Couples brings in some really impressive bands/singers...EVERY day. The beach bonfire with the muscian was one of our favorites...so romantic. My favorite part of CN was the beach. Oh my how beautiful and crystal clear the waters were and how soft the sand felt as it touched your feet. It was the most beautiful beach I have been to (and I have been the too many to list here). I also went scuba diving and saw many fish on the reef, an octopus, and stingrays close to the shore. The scuba staff is awesome (Craig was so patient). Kayaking was fun as well. Seriously though, the beach is so beautiful (I can't wait to revisit it). |

I would be fascinated to know what you expected for breakfast as you rated it only as average. I cannot think of anything which is missing from the breakfast buffet or anything which is there which could be better presented. |
